Overhaul the UX/UI framework for the Small Business Insurance Division. Build and redploy a comprehensive Design System powering two distinct, responsive platforms: a direct-to-consumer portal and an agent-facing portal.

Through rapid prototyping and rigorous user testing, we successfully moved from discovery to a fully realized web app and delivered on a high-velocity timeline.

— The focus was to support MetLife’s initiative for a scalable digital framework, leading a comprehensive UX audit and competitive research phase for their small business insurance sector. This discovery work informed a total re-architecture of the user journey, allowing us to transform fragmented legacy mappings into a streamlined, intuitive flow.

Managing a complex ecosystem of hundreds of screens, we established a comprehensive Information Architecture map to visualize user flows. To ensure design consistency and delivery, a robust inventory matrix evolved to track the status, and progress of every view from wireframe to final hand-off.

A core part of the project’s success was establishing a robust Design System Library. With a high volume of moving parts, prioritizing asset governance and the management of centralized component libraries to maintain a 'single source of truth' for the design and development teams.

Ultimately, we ended up with a beautiful new Consumer site that met brand requirements and streamlined user flows and optimizes generating trust-worthy quotes and increased purchases. Delivering a fresh modern, scalable design system that prioritized friction-less navigation and transparency.
— While the consumer portal focused on guided discovery, the Agent Portal was engineered as a high-density administrative toolkit. We pivoted the UI strategy to prioritize operational efficiency, providing agents with a streamlined dashboard for policy management, real-time data visualization, and complex administrative workflows..

The "Impact & Results"

— The project was met with high stakeholder approval, but more importantly, it delivered a significant lift in user engagement. Post-launch analytics confirmed a measurable increase in the adoption and utilization of the small business insurance platform, validating our user-centric design approach.
